In his new role, Mr. Mahdesian is active in advocating for resources from the State of California for health care and transportation in Los Angeles.
Mr. Mahdesian brings to LACC an impressive record of business achievements and service. In 1986, he founded Pacifica Consulting Services, today Servicon’s Supply and Equipment Division. Appointed in 1993 as Deputy Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau of Humanitarian Response, Mr. Mahdesian oversaw the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) and the Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), and was actively involved in the U.S. response to crises in Haiti, Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosovo and the Congo. He rejoined Servicon in 2000 as Director of Servicon’s Business Development and Corporate Strategy, and became Chairman of Servicon in 2000. Mr. Mahdesian is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy, and serves on the Board of Advisors of the University of California and of the Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Public Affairs, the Boards of the Los Angeles Business Council and the Democracy Council, and as Chair of Operation USA.
