The Role
Join us as an Operations Safety Trainer, where you’ll play a key role in strengthening our Safety Culture by delivering practical, hands-on training to our janitorial teams at client sites across the country. Reporting to the Safety Director, you’ll ensure every employee is well-prepared and aligned with our “safety first” commitment. Collaborating with the Safety and Risk team and field leadership, you’ll develop and deliver impactful safety programs that meet our business needs while fostering a strong safety culture.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- The primary goal of the position is to reduce or eliminate injuries at work sites through direct skills training of company employees at client sites.
- Apply technical and professional knowledge to a wide range of janitorial work activities. Utilize standardized training methods to front-line employees (and their direct supervision) to perform work safely, prevent injuries and identify hazards
- Work is performed independently with minimal supervision under the direction of the Safety Manager. Considerable judgment is expected to be exercised in the execution of these training duties
- Work one-on-one with individuals during their shifts to review, correct and encourage them in the use of correct safety procedures using company approved standards for janitorial operations
- Lead and facilitate training classes in the field at client sites and at corporate, using company approved standards for janitorial operations
- Support the creation of training content, including facilitator’s guides, learning aides, etc. that deliver replicable, consistent and effective messaging of the material through appropriate channels
What It Takes to be Successful
- Passionate about Safety and Training
- Muat have a Valid Driver’s license
- 2+ years’ experience facilitating front-line training both one-on-one and in classroom setting
- 5+ years’ experience in janitorial operations (preferred)
- Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) required
- Possess a working knowledge of Cal-OSHA and Federal OSHA compliance standards
- Strong presentation skills; possess the confidence to speak in front of employees, delivering a clear message (in both English and/or Spanish)
- Strong technical skills: able to use databases for entering and reporting data; proficient in MS Office Programs: email, calendar, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, different locations, varied work shifts
- Ability to successfully complete LiveScan/ background check in order to obtain access (badging) at client sites
